FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we’re asked most about construction timelapse. Missing an answer? Get in touch.
How are the cameras installed on the construction site?
We assess the site in advance and identify the best angles, indoors or out. Cameras are mounted in a rugged position, typically on a mast, crane, façade, container or wall. They run autonomously on battery and store footage locally, so they need no mains power or internet connection. The full installation is carried out by us and is operational the same day.
Can the camera move during the project?
Yes. We can reposition the camera as the build progresses, so the finished film captures the project from several perspectives. This gives a more dynamic, story-driven result than a single fixed viewpoint.
Are you used to working on construction sites?
Yes. We are used to working on active construction sites and always comply with the site’s requirements and safety rules, including safety induction, access control, personal protective equipment and applicable health-and-safety regulations. We hold, or will obtain, the required certificates and access permissions, so installation and visits are carried out safely and by the book.
How long can a project run?
Our solution suits everything from shorter projects to multi-year builds. There is a minimum booking of 3 months per camera, capped at 9 months. So with three cameras or more the minimum booking is 9 months. After that it continues month by month for as long as the project lasts. You pay per camera per month.
When and how is the timelapse video delivered?
We deliver finished, edited timelapse films at the end of the project and can also provide interim films at key milestones. Videos are delivered digitally in high resolution and can be used for documentation, social-media storytelling, presentations, websites and marketing.
Is the footage secure?
Yes. By default all footage is stored locally on the camera with no cloud storage. That gives high data security and full control, which matters for security and governance on the construction site. Finished films and selected clips can be shared through a protected portal when you want. If the project needs cloud or live access, we can enable a connected setup via LTE/5G or on-site Wi-Fi.
Can the cameras be used both indoors and outdoors?
Yes. The solution works both indoors and outdoors. The cameras are weatherproof and tested in Scandinavian conditions, they run reliably all year round, summer and winter, in rain, wind, frost and direct sun.
Is timelapse on a construction site legal (GDPR)?
Yes. Construction timelapse is used for visual documentation of the build’s progress, not person surveillance. The camera captures progress on site, and we set up capture and handling of the material to respect privacy and applicable rules. Footage is stored locally, giving full control of the data.
Do the cameras require maintenance?
No, we check the cameras regularly and step in if anything needs adjusting. Maintenance and support are included, so you never spend time on the technology.
What does construction timelapse cost?
Prices start from 2,200 DKK per camera per month and cover installation, local storage, operation and support. The price is indicative and can be adjusted to your project, so we always find the best possible solution. Use our price calculator to estimate the total. All prices exclude VAT.
How many cameras do we need?
It depends on the size of the site and how many angles you want to document. For most projects one to three cameras is enough. We are happy to advise on the right coverage for your build.
What quality are the cameras?
We use professional high-resolution timelapse cameras (Full HD and up to 4K) with wide-angle optics that capture the whole site in sharp, detailed images, suitable for both large-format video and marketing material.
Can we follow the build as it happens?
By default footage is stored locally, so there is no constant live feed. If you want to follow the site continuously, we can enable cloud and live access via LTE/5G or on-site Wi-Fi. Otherwise we share selected clips and the finished film through a secure portal whenever you need.
Who owns the images and videos?
You receive full usage rights to the delivered material and may use it freely for marketing, documentation and internal purposes.
Can you document several sites at once?
Yes. We happily manage multiple sites and multiple cameras in parallel and bring it all together in one clear overview for you.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Copenhagen and cover construction projects across the Nordic countries, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. Get in touch with your specific location and we’ll find the right solution.
Do you also offer drone timelapse?
Yes, drone timelapse is possible and gives a striking aerial perspective on the build. It requires more planning than fixed-mounted cameras, including flight permissions and logistics. Contact us directly and we’ll plan it together for your project.
How quickly can you get started?
After a short review of the site and your needs, we can typically install and go live within a short time. Contact us for a concrete schedule.
Do we get support during the project?
Yes. You have dedicated support throughout the project. We monitor operation, keep the cameras running and are ready whenever you have questions.
What happens to the cameras after the project?
When the build is complete we remove the equipment and deliver the finished timelapse film. You never have to handle installation or removal yourself.
